About Aldinger Law

Aldinger Law is a solo family law practice in Courtenay, British Columbia, operating as Shannon Aldinger Personal Law Corporation. Shannon Aldinger opened the practice in the Comox Valley in 2012, after 15 years at a Vancouver litigation firm that handled family law and civil sexual abuse claims. Aldinger holds degrees from McGill University (1992) and Dalhousie Law School (1995) and became a certified family law mediator in 2017, and has now practiced family law for more than 20 years.

The firm covers the full range of family law work, including parenting arrangements and relocation disputes, child and spousal support, division of property and pensions, family violence matters and protection orders, and prenuptial, cohabitation, and separation agreements. It works through negotiation and mediation where a settlement can be reached, and when a matter doesn't settle, it has represented clients in the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. The office at 212 5th Street sits in downtown Courtenay, on the unceded territories of the K'omoks First Nation, and the firm follows the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association's Best Practice Guidelines for lawyers practicing family law.
