About Shahid
Shahid Hanif was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2023. He completed his articles in two parts, first with an experienced criminal trial lawyer in Northern BC and then with a civil litigator in downtown Vancouver. During his time in Northern BC he assisted on serious criminal matters, including a case involving criminal negligence causing death, and helped achieve favourable non-trial resolutions through negotiation with the Crown. Since then he has also handled quasi-criminal and regulatory matters, including civil contempt applications and proceedings involving professional bodies such as the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. He has appeared in all levels of court in BC and regularly argues contested applications. Hanif speaks English, Urdu, and Hindi.
