About Sergio

Sergio R. Karas leads Karas Immigration Law Professional Corporation, a Toronto firm focused on Canadian immigration law for individuals, corporations, and investors. He holds a Certified Specialist designation in Canadian Citizenship and Immigration Law from the Law Society of Ontario and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He earned his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School after an honours degree in political science from York University. He has chaired the Ontario Bar Association's Citizenship and Immigration Section, the International Bar Association's Immigration and Nationality Committee, and the American Bar Association's Section of International Law Canada Committee, and currently chairs a division of the ABA's Section of International Law. He teaches immigration law at Sheridan College and writes and comments publicly on immigration topics. He's fluent in English, French, and Spanish, with working knowledge of Italian, Portuguese, and German.
