About Sean

Sean Fagan grew up around criminal defence work, the son of a respected Calgary criminal lawyer, and focused exclusively on criminal law from law school onward, where he won the Faculty of Law Trial Advocacy Championship and medalled at the Sopinka Cup. He has practised only criminal law throughout his career, defending clients facing assault, drug trafficking, firearms, and murder charges across Canada. Sean was lead defence counsel in a Supreme Court of Canada case that secured a full acquittal and struck down a 30-year-old law, re-establishing the defence of extreme intoxication. He maintains a low-volume, selective practice, taking cases on a case-by-case basis, and does not accept legal aid.
