S. Michael Citak is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group at Gardiner Roberts LLP. He has appeared before various courts and administrative tribunals in Ontario, including on judicial reviews of tribunal decisions, and has conducted private arbitrations and mediations on significant commercial matters. In employment law, he regularly represents corporations and executive employees, negotiating employment agreements and handling wrongful dismissal and human rights claims. In insolvency law, he frequently appears in Commercial Court for creditors, landlords, and debtors, particularly for commercial landlords in retail insolvency cases such as Toys R Us and Target. He also advises on commercial leasing disputes and represents insurers in claims involving environmental, personal injury, and property damage matters. He earned his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor in 2003 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2004.
