About Ronald

Ron Melvin has practised real estate, business, and commercial law since 1979. His work sits mainly at the intersection of real estate and commercial law, with a strong emphasis on commercial mortgage lending for private entrepreneurs and both institutional and non-institutional lenders. His real estate experience includes acquisitions, sales, development, subdivisions, condominiums, equity participation financing, construction lien matters, and commercial leasing, along with a particular interest in hotel acquisitions. He has handled numerous workouts of problem loans along with mortgage remedies, including powers of sale and foreclosure proceedings. His corporate and commercial work covers incorporations, reorganizations, business purchases and sales, shareholder and partnership agreements, franchising, and tax-driven transactions. He also assists clients with estate planning, wills, and powers of attorney. Ron earned his LL.B. from the University of Windsor in 1979 and his B.A.S. from the University of Toronto in 1976.
