About Robert
Robert Durante was called to the bar in 1997, after an articling year at a firm that defended insurance companies in personal injury cases; that experience left him determined to advocate for injured people instead. He joined Oatley Vigmond the same year and has represented seriously injured clients and their families ever since. He majored in psychology at McGill University and earned his law degree from Queen's University. One of his most memorable cases involved a woman who suffered a serious brain injury in a motor vehicle collision after becoming intoxicated at an employer holiday party; the suit against the employer helped change public understanding of employer liability at staff events. Rob sits on the board of the Brain Injury Association of Sudbury and District and has spoken at conferences hosted by the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario, the Advocates' Society, and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
