About Robert Kraska

Robert Kraska is a criminal defence lawyer and a partner at Godinho Zager Kraska LLP, with more than 10 years in criminal law spent on both the prosecution and the defence side. Clients can work with Robert in English or Polish, and Robert has appeared for people at every level of court in Ontario, from the provincial courts right up to the Court of Appeal.

Before moving to defence work, Robert prosecuted for years. The first post was as a federal Crown Attorney with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, where every file combined drugs and guns. That job meant running high-level drug prosecutions for the federal government and advising police forces on drug investigations. Robert then joined the Ministry of the Attorney General for Ontario as a provincial Crown, and the caseload widened to everything from minor offences to serious charges such as impaired driving, sexual assault, abduction and armed home invasions.

Law school was always the plan for Robert, with criminal law as the goal. Over the years Robert has handled criminal, family and civil files, and for the last several years the practice has been criminal law only. Whatever the charge, Robert's firm belief is that every person's rights deserve protection.

That prosecution background shapes how Robert defends. Each client gets a litigation plan built for their own case and aimed at taking apart what the Crown has put together, whether that means attacking the evidence, testing how credible a witness is or finding a procedural error.
