About Robert

Robert E. Groves, known as Bob, is a Kelowna lawyer with more than four decades of experience appearing in the courts of British Columbia, before several provincial regulatory tribunals, and in the Supreme Court of Canada. He has served as a mediator and arbitrator, and is a former member of the Mediate BC Civil Roster, the ADR Institute of British Columbia, and the British Columbia International Commercial Arbitration Centre. He is a past Co-Chair of the Okanagan Sub-section of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Section of the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch, and served on the executive of the Kelowna Bar Association, including as its President in 2003-2004. He has also been a director of the BC School Personnel Association, the Kelowna Museums Society, and the YMCA-YWCA of the Central Okanagan, and was a Law Society appointee to the Board of Governors of the Law Foundation of BC from 2008 to 2014. Since 2006 he has taught law courses as a faculty member of the Okanagan School of Business at Okanagan College, and he has been a member of the British Columbia Employment Standards Tribunal since 2004.
