About Richard
Richard Neary is a criminal, family, and personal injury lawyer based in Victoria's Bastion Square. He earned a psychology degree from Queen's University in 1998 while working full-time in construction, then attended law school at the University of Victoria starting in 1999. After qualifying in Ontario, where he shared the Parsons Prize for the top mark in the criminal law bar exam, he worked with several prominent Toronto criminal defence lawyers before returning to Victoria in 2004 to join Green & Helme, a leading local criminal and personal injury firm. Neary worked there until 2011, defending cases ranging from driving offences to high-profile murder charges and obtaining results for plaintiffs suing ICBC, insurers, police, and other government agencies. He opened his own practice in Bastion Square in March 2011.
