About Richard
Richard Blair was called to the Ontario bar in 1988 and joined the firm as a partner in 1995, retiring in 2020 after 32 years. He represented a wide range of trade unions, professional associations and employees in the public, education, construction and industrial sectors, with an extensive practice in arbitration, labour board and court proceedings at the federal and provincial levels. He was known for his expertise in public and private sector restructuring, trade union mergers and affiliations, workplace safety insurance matters, professional discipline in health care, university and college employment issues, and labour injunctions. Richard holds an LL.B. from the University of Toronto and has served as an adjunct professor there, teaching public sector labour law. He also speaks frequently to trade unions and professional groups on labour relations and workplace safety.
