About Rebecca
Rebecca Ernst is an associate in the firm's Estates Department, focusing on estate litigation, guardianship litigation, power of attorney disputes and capacity litigation. Her background in social work and gerontology shapes a compassionate, client-centered approach to the sensitive family dynamics these matters often involve. Before joining Walker Head Lawyers she worked with the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee and the Advocacy Centre for the Elderly. She holds Juris Doctor and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Windsor, a Specialized Honours B.A. in Cognitive Science from York University, and a diploma in Social Service Work from Seneca College with a focus on Gerontology. Rebecca guest lectures on consent and capacity issues and was called to the Ontario bar in 2016. She belongs to the Durham Region Law Association and sits on Legal Aid Ontario's Consent and Capacity Board panel.
