About Randall

Randall Kahgee is senior counsel who has worked with Indigenous governments across Canada on agreements with provincial and federal governments, with particular focus on nuclear facilities, transmission lines, renewable energy projects and environmental matters. Advisory work for proponents and governments covers mining and resource development strategy, drawing on extensive experience in community consultation, including processes for free, prior and informed consent. Randall has helped negotiate and implement land claim and self-government agreements and participated in impact benefit negotiations. Randall served four consecutive terms as Chief of the Saugeen First Nation from 2006 to 2014, focusing on the Crown-First Nation relationship and the recognition of Indigenous and treaty rights. Randall holds an LLB from the University of Toronto and a BA from York University, and is recognized by Lexpert and Canada's Best Lawyers.
