Phillip P. Dinis is a barrister at law and founder of Dominion Criminal Defence. Dinis initially pursued a career in law enforcement, earning top marks in a Police Foundations program and volunteering with organizations including the Canadian Auto Workers' political and human rights division and the Ontario Provincial Police auxiliary unit, before shifting toward legal advocacy. Dinis earned an Honours Specialization degree in Political Science and Government Policy from the University of Western Ontario (now Western University), a Master's degree in the same field from the University of Waterloo, and a Canadian and American Juris Doctorate from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy. While in Detroit, Dinis volunteered with the university's Veteran's Law Clinic, assisting veterans with legal issues. After articling with Patricia Brown in Windsor and under criminal defence lawyer Alan Gold, and working in Toronto, Dinis returned to London to open Dominion Criminal Defence with paralegal Dallas Thompson.
