About Peter
Peter Welsh serves as Of Counsel to RD Law Professional Corporation, which he joined in 2009. For more than 30 years he has practised corporate and commercial law, acting for major Canadian financial institutions, real estate developers and publicly listed corporations as well as entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses. His work covers business start-ups, financial services, real estate, succession and estate planning, restructuring and commercial transactions, with particular attention to strategies that reduce risk and resolve disputes before they escalate. He has also served as Special Advisor to the Ministry of Consumer and Corporate Affairs and as Associate General Counsel for one of Canada's largest real estate developers. He obtained a B.A. in Economics from McMaster and a law degree from the University of New Brunswick, an MBA from Western, and was called to the bar in New Brunswick in 1973 and Ontario in 1977.
