About Peter
Peter Baek is a partner whose practice covers income tax, GST/HST and other taxes such as land transfer tax, along with tax litigation and dispute resolution. A Certified Specialist in Taxation Law with the Law Society of Ontario, he is both a CPA and a lawyer, having practised as a tax professional for more than 20 years. Before law school he worked as a senior tax auditor with the CRA, auditing companies with revenues up to $1 billion, experience that now shapes his work on both tax planning and CRA disputes. His planning practice spans cross-border transactions, corporate reorganizations and helping high-net-worth families with capital gains exemptions and estate freezes, while his dispute work runs from CRA audits through Tax Court appeals and voluntary disclosures. Peter was admitted to the Ontario bar in 1999, holds a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Chartered Accountant designation, and speaks English and Korean.
