Managing Partner at Sitar & Milczarek: Criminal Appeals and Complex Trials
Pawel Milczarek is the managing partner of the firm, focusing on appellate work and complex criminal litigation. He has represented clients before the Alberta and Saskatchewan Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, with experience in cases involving 'Mr. Big' murder investigations, wiretap drug prosecutions, and terrorism charges, arguing matters such as murder, serious personal-injury offences, firearms, and drug trafficking at both trial and appellate levels. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in 2003 and a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2006. Born in Poland and raised in a small northern Ontario community, Pawel is able to communicate with and represent members of Calgary's Polish community. He writes the firm's blog, The Defence Toolkit, volunteers with the Criminal Defence Lawyers Association (Calgary) as a past Vice-President and Director of Member Services, and coaches two competitive youth soccer teams with the Calgary Minor Soccer Association.
