Patrick de Niverville was admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 1981. He represents professional order syndics before disciplinary councils and appellate and judicial review tribunals, and represents parity committees before courts of first instance and appeal in civil and penal matters. He wrote the annotated law on collective agreement decrees, a text still cited by the courts. He has represented senior executives in high-profile, politically sensitive matters, and for many years acted as assistant prosecutor for the Conseil de la magistrature investigating ethics complaints against provincial court judges, and has also defended administrative judges before the Conseil de la justice administrative. With close to 40 years of experience in professional and disciplinary law and labour law, he serves clients including professional orders, parity committees, and government and quasi-government bodies. He currently chairs the disciplinary committees of the Chambre de l'assurance de dommages du Québec (ChAD) and the Organisme d'autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ), and frequently speaks and teaches on professional and disciplinary law.
