About Stephanie

Stephanie Afilalo has substantial experience in labour law, conflict resolution and human resources. As senior legal counsel at a major national cosmetics company, Afilalo oversaw labour and employment law matters and worked with human resources on major restructuring projects, including conducting workplace investigations and delivering corporate training. Afilalo has extensive experience drafting and revising contracts, developing workplace harassment policies, and implementing alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation. Before that, Afilalo worked as a lawyer and labour relations manager at the Sir Mortimer B. Davis Jewish General Hospital, representing the employer on matters involving the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec. In private practice, Afilalo worked at Phillips Friedman Kotler LLP, focusing on civil law and contracts, and articled at Heenan Blaikie LLP. Afilalo holds a Juris Doctor and an LL.B. from Université de Montréal and is an accredited mediator in civil, commercial and labour law.
