About Pam

Pam MacDonell advises individuals, families and businesses on Canadian and international tax matters, including tax planning, corporate reorganizations, CRA disputes and appeals, trust and estate planning, and Tax Court of Canada litigation. She practised nearly two decades in business ownership, operations management and healthcare leadership, including as a Registered Nurse and Chief Operations Officer, before becoming a lawyer, which she says gives her a practical view of clients' cash-flow and risk pressures. Before joining BARR LLP she advised high-net-worth clients on tax residency and cross-border planning, conducted tax due diligence on mergers and acquisitions, and represented taxpayers before the CRA and the Tax Court of Canada.
