About Daniel

Daniel Spanu is an associate in the Estate Solutions practice group at Duncan Craig LLP, representing individuals and families in estate litigation matters involving disputes over wills and estates. Before becoming a lawyer he had a career in public service, from preparing briefing materials for federal cabinet ministers in Ottawa to managing municipal zoning bylaw enforcement in Edmonton. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Manitoba before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2023. He has said that watching his father's cognitive decline shaped how he practises, focusing on reducing the legal burden on families during incapacity and after death.
