About Murray
Murray L. Smith, K.C. is a barrister practising from arbitration chambers in Vancouver, with his practice confined to commercial arbitration. He has more than forty years of experience as a trial lawyer, with expertise in maritime, construction, insurance, and oil and gas law disputes. He is a Fellow and Chartered Arbitrator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and holds a master's degree in international business law, focusing on international arbitration, from the London School of Economics. He has served as chairman, party-appointed arbitrator, and sole arbitrator on numerous international and domestic commercial arbitration tribunals, has taught arbitration law and practice internationally for more than twenty years, and co-authored the second edition of International Commercial Arbitration Law and Practice with Redfern and Hunter. He was appointed King's Counsel by British Columbia's Attorney General.
