About Michel

Michel Marchand has been a member of the Barreau du Québec for more than 30 years, practising criminal and penal law, including international criminal law. He has pleaded before Quebec courts and the Supreme Court of Canada, and appeared at first instance and on appeal before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. He collaborates with the Barreau du Québec on criminal law training and sits on its Groupe d'experts en droit criminel, has served on the board of the Association des avocats de la défense de Montréal-Laval-Longueuil, and was a member of its liaison committee with the Quebec Court of Appeal. He has given training on subjects including the right to counsel under the Canadian Charter, cannabis legislation, and criminal negligence.
