About Michael

Michael Segal restricts his practice to corporate, commercial, tax, and estate planning matters. He received his Certified Specialist designation in Corporate and Commercial Law from the Law Society of Ontario in October 2004, one of only a select few in the province to hold it. He taught a basic law course at Algonquin College in the late 1970s, was an instructor for the commercial law section of the Bar Admission Course from 1998 to 2005, and has lectured on computers in the small law office as well as business law, wills, and estates. He is an active member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Canada, holding the TEP designation and having chaired its Ottawa branch and served on its national board. He chairs the Business Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association and has served for seven years as an advisor to young lawyers through the Law Society of Ontario's Coach and Advisor Program.
