About Michael

Michael R. Danyluik focuses his practice on criminal and professional disciplinary law in Edmonton, with a practice that extends provincewide and into British Columbia. He was called to the Alberta bar in 1994 and appointed King's Counsel in 2022, and he began his career with the Attorney General of Alberta, gaining experience with major criminal prosecutions including homicides and sexual assaults. He was a partner at Davidson Gregory Danyluik for 15 years and served as the firm's Responsible Lawyer to the Law Society of Alberta. Danyluik has argued cases before the Alberta Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada on issues involving the right to counsel and compelled statements under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and he now represents members of professional associations, primarily the Edmonton Police Association, in disciplinary and criminal matters. He earned his Bachelor of Arts (honors) from the University of Western Ontario and his law degree from the University of Alberta.
