Wills, Estates & TrustsMichael Power carries on an active general law practice and continues to represent clients in all courts, with preferred areas including criminal law, civil litigation, real estate and property law, and wills, estates and probate. He earned his Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in 1976, received a Queen's Counsel appointment in 2008, and now holds the King's Counsel designation. He is a 40-year member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and the Canadian Bar Association, and has served on the boards of the CBC, the Lawyers' Insurance Association of Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Bar Council, and the Nova Scotia Police Commission. He was formerly general counsel for the Automotive Trades Association of Nova Scotia and a standing agent for the federal Crown in prosecutions under the Narcotic Control Act, the Income Tax Act, and the Excise Tax Act.
