About Michael

Michael Comartin serves as counsel in the Employment, Pensions, and Executive Compensation Group at Goodmans. Michael's work spans employment and labour matters such as wrongful dismissal, restrictive covenants, M&A-related restructuring, wage and hour disputes, human rights, accessibility, and executive compensation, plus class actions and appellate litigation. Before Goodmans, Michael worked at a boutique employment law firm starting in 2016, after time at a large international firm. Michael has argued matters before Ontario's Court of Appeal, Divisional Court, and Superior Court of Justice, plus the Federal Courts, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the province's Human Rights Tribunal, and clerked at the Divisional Court. Michael earned the Medal in Law for top standing in the graduating class and became the first Queen's University graduate to win three Dean's Gold Scholar awards for finishing first each year of the JD program.
