About Meryam

Meryam Zakko was called to the Barreau du Québec in 2025 after earning an LL.B. from the Université de Sherbrooke in 2024. Zakko's practice concentrates on criminal law, with particular attention to protecting clients' constitutional rights and the presumption of innocence. Zakko completed a Barreau articling term at the Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales, the Quebec prosecution service, which gave Zakko insight into the Crown's approach that now informs Zakko's defence work. Zakko is a member of the AADM and works with clients in multiple languages.
