About Melannie
Melannie Freza is an associate on Dale & Lessmann LLP's litigation team, working on a broad range of civil and commercial disputes. Her career began as a legal assistant at a downtown Toronto firm, and she became a licensed paralegal before starting at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2021, where she won the Joan Gilmour Prize in Health Law, researched for the Gale Cup Moot and served as Managing Editor of the student newspaper Obiter Dicta. She also worked as a student caseworker for Innocence Canada, helping advocate for the wrongfully convicted. After joining the firm as a summer student in 2023 and completing articles in 2024, she was called to the Ontario bar in 2025. She holds a BA from the University of Toronto and a JD from Osgoode.
