About Melanie

Melanie Hockin is a partner at George Murray Shipley Bell, LLP. Born and raised in Sarnia, she earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2003, where she played on the varsity women's soccer team, and her Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University in 2006. While at Queen's, she completed a summer program at Herstmonceux Castle in England and a semester abroad at the University of Sydney. Melanie was called to the Ontario Bar in 2007, practised in Toronto for ten years, and then returned to Sarnia, joining George Murray Shipley Bell, LLP in January 2021. Her practice focuses on real estate, wills and estates, and corporate/commercial matters.
