About Marie

Marie Aspiazu is an associate lawyer with EKB's litigation group, maintaining a broad practice focused on commercial, civil, employment, and administrative law. Her clients range from individuals to small and medium sized businesses across a wide range of industries. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in workplace matters and has appeared in the provincial, supreme, and appellate courts of British Columbia, as well as before the Employment Standards Tribunal and the BC Human Rights Tribunal. Before joining EKB, Marie practised general litigation and workplace law at a mid sized Vancouver firm and articled at a national firm. She earlier worked for two Vancouver non-profits specializing in digital and public policy, and has appeared before the CRTC and a parliamentary committee reviewing the Copyright Act. Marie earned her LLB from the University of Victoria in 2023 and a Bachelor of Science (Environmental) from Simon Fraser University in 2014. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
