About Maya

Maya Amar is a criminal defense lawyer who represents clients facing a range of criminal and penal charges, including sexual assault, aggravated assault, attempted murder, impaired driving, domestic violence, narcotics offences, robbery, theft and fraud. She has appeared in courts across Quebec, including Montreal, Laval, Longueuil and Joliette, as well as in Ontario, and pleads cases in both English and French. She practises from an office in Old Montreal as part of Boro Frigon Gordon Jones, a Montreal firm founded in 2002 that focuses exclusively on criminal defense and is made up of twelve independent lawyers. She holds a Bachelor of Law from the Université de Montréal and a Master of Law in Criminal Law from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.
