About Maxwell

Maxwell Bauer is a partner whose career has been dedicated exclusively to employment law, representing both employers and employees. He started at Morrison Reist Krauss as an associate in 2017, and in 2024 he became a partner at Reist Krauss Bauer LLP. A lifelong resident of Waterloo Region, Max studied communications and global studies as an undergraduate at Wilfrid Laurier University, then earned his law degree from Queen's University in 2011, where he received several academic awards. He articled in Toronto at a national employment and labour firm, then worked in-house at a major Canadian financial institution before returning to Kitchener Waterloo to rejoin the firm. His practice covers termination matters, human rights concerns, workplace health and safety, and putting together and negotiating employment contracts and severance arrangements. He also represents clients in litigation before courts and tribunals. Max has been featured by media outlets including the CBC and is active with the Waterloo Region Law Association, where he previously co-chaired its EMPOWR group.
