About Matthew

Matthew E. Aronson is a graduate of McGill Law and a member of both the Barreau du Québec and the Law Society of Ontario. He practises corporate and commercial law, real estate and immigration law, with a focus on governance for both for-profit and non-profit corporations and charities, mostly assisting small and medium-sized businesses and non-profits with matters including work permits for foreign nationals, transactions, leasing and corporate structuring; he also specializes in obtaining work permits and permanent residency for caregivers. He began his career at one of Canada's leading corporate-commercial law firms, gained further experience at a boutique litigation firm and a well-known immigration firm, then moved in-house at an international private equity firm as an asset manager and real estate advisor. He returned to private practice in 2015 and has since advised a number of start-ups through their establishment and growth, in addition to assisting arts and community-oriented charities and non-profits. He currently serves on the boards of Notre-Dame-des-Arts and La Semaine des Arts, and as VP Legal for MKRLAB, a makerspace in nearby Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.
