About Matt
Matt Browne is a criminal defence lawyer who practices throughout Alberta and British Columbia and has appeared at all levels of court in both provinces. Before law school he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and worked with oil and gas companies across North America and Southeast Asia, experience he draws on when dealing with complex forensic issues in court. He earned his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he focused on criminal law and advocacy and was a member of Osgoode's International Criminal Court Moot team, and volunteered with Fair Change Community Service assisting street-involved people with provincial offence tickets. Browne completed his articles in Victoria, British Columbia, and worked as an associate with several criminal defence lawyers before founding his own practice. He has represented clients facing violent, drug, firearm, property, and driving offences.
