About Martin
Martin D. Glazer has practised criminal law exclusively in Winnipeg since he was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1982. His work spans bail applications, preliminary hearings, and jury trials in Manitoba's courts, appeals before the Manitoba Court of Appeal, and four appearances before the Supreme Court of Canada. Glazer earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg in 1978 and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Manitoba in 1981. In 1995 he received the Manitoba Bar Association's first annual pro bono award for his work on behalf of a client with a mental disability. He has been a longtime member of the Canadian Bar Association and formerly chaired the Manitoba Bar Association's Civil Liberties section and served as vice president of the Manitoba Criminal Defence Lawyers Association. Glazer has also written and spoken publicly on criminal law topics such as bail and DNA evidence, and served as Chair of the Manitoba Mental Health Review Board from March 2023 to August 2025.
