About Mark
Mark O'Brien approaches criminal defence with the conviction that every person deserves effective representation. He focuses on building trust with clients, keeping them informed of their rights, and working toward the best possible outcomes. Before joining Karapancev Law, he articled at a respected criminal defence firm, gaining hands-on experience with the justice system. He studied at Western Law School, where his coursework centred on criminal law and he earned the Dr. Allison H. Johnson Award. While in school, he volunteered with a Toronto criminal defence lawyer and a non-profit devoted to constitutional rights. He also holds a master's degree in political and legal theory from Queen's University and a bachelor's degree in political science and economics from the University of Guelph.
