About Marie-Pier

Boulet is a partner at BMD Avocats, practising primarily in criminal law with some family law files, though she does not handle family mediation. Her practice is mostly trial representation in first-instance proceedings, and she also argues her own appeals, collaborating with Hugo Marquis on factums. She was named vice-president of the Association des avocats de la défense (AADM) in June 2014, alongside president Danièle Roy, and continues to represent the Laval section of the AADM, including participating in the Court of Québec's criminal division liaison committee for the Laval district. She serves as secretary of the Jeune Barreau de Laval's board of directors, overseeing communications, awards, and new member outreach. She also writes legal commentary for Éditions Yvon Blais, summarizing and analyzing recent court decisions. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Université Laval, where she was vice-president of the university's Lawyers Without Borders chapter, and completed a term of study at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, where she conducted research questioning restrictive and deterrent sentencing.
