About Marianne
Marianne Abou-Hamad is a partner at Emond Harnden who joined the firm as an associate after her articling term and a summer student placement there. She practises in all areas of labour and employment law, advising federally and provincially regulated employers in both the public and private sectors. She has argued motions and conducted hearings at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court, and regularly handles wrongful dismissal and human rights defence, collective bargaining, employment contract drafting, grievance responses, and arbitration preparation. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Ottawa's English Common Law Program in 2018, after earning an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in Political Science, also from the University of Ottawa, Summa Cum Laude. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2019 and belongs to the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the County of Carleton Law Association.
