About Maia

Maia is an associate at Myers LLP, focusing primarily on Indigenous Legal Services and employment law. She joined the firm in 2023 as a summer student and returned to article in 2025 after graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba. Before law school, she earned an Advanced Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba, majoring in Political Studies with a minor in French Language Studies. During law school, Maia received the Kenneth A. Filkow Q.C. Memorial Prize in Negotiations and competed in the Wilson Moot and the Laskin Moot, including as a French-language participant. She has volunteered with groups promoting bilingualism and anti-racism advocacy. Maia speaks French but does not primarily practise in the language.
