About Lwam
Dr. Lwam Ghebrehariat holds a JD from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law (2011), where he was valedictorian, and an MD from McMaster University (2017). He is licensed to practice law in Ontario and Alberta and is certified as a specialist in psychiatry by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. His legal practice covers criminal law, mental health law, labour and employment law, human rights law, and disability law, and he also provides independent medical and psychiatric evaluations for lawyers, litigants, and organizations on issues such as capacity and professional discipline. As a law student he focused on social justice, serving in legal aid clinics and completing his articles at a union-side labour law firm before practising as a criminal lawyer.
