About Charles

Charles Barhydt has practised criminal law since 1981 and established his own firm in 1983, defending clients on charges including impaired driving, assault, and drug offences. He was trial counsel in R. v. Askov, a landmark Supreme Court of Canada case on the right to be tried within a reasonable time, and received the Criminal Lawyers' Association's 2024 Ricky Goldman Mensch Outstanding Member Award.
