About Lorin

Lorin Yurekkirmaz is an Associate Lawyer at Anchor Law, practising exclusively in immigration and refugee law. Lorin holds a Bachelor's degree in Law and Society with a Certificate in Public Administration and Law from York University, graduating cum laude, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Birmingham, along with a Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation and the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. Lorin's path with Anchor Law began as a law student and continued through articling, and Lorin was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2025. Born in Canada to immigrant parents, Lorin brings a personal connection to the immigrant experience to advocacy for immigrants and refugees facing systemic barriers and displacement, and is fluent in Turkish with a working comprehension of Kurdish. Lorin is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
