About Lisa

Lisa Amin took on an interim board position at SALCO in 2019 and now chairs the board. She practises human rights, employment and labour law and has spent her career trying to improve access to justice for marginalized people in Ontario. Since being called to the bar she has worked with several legal clinics in Toronto, giving her a close understanding of how community legal clinic work operates day to day. As a member of the South Asian community herself, she has also seen firsthand where these clinics fall short in serving the diverse South Asian population, and that perspective informs her work on SALCO's board.
