About Leanne

Leanne Townsend is a family lawyer at Benmor Family Law Group with more than 25 years of experience in the justice system. She began her career as an Assistant Crown Attorney, spending 16 years prosecuting cases and serving as Domestic Violence Co-Lead, before moving into private practice as a Family Law Partner at a Bay Street firm and later founding Townsend Family Law. She is known for guiding clients through divorces involving significant wealth, family violence cases, and complex disputes over parenting and property, using both negotiation and litigation. Leanne also works as a divorce coach, speaker, and educator, hosting the Divorcing Well and Divorce Explained podcasts and appearing in outlets including CBC, CTV News, and CP24. She teaches in the Paralegal Program at Fanshawe College and is the mother of two.
