About Kumail
Kumail Karimjee is a lawyer, mediator, arbitrator and independent investigator with a practice focused on workplace legal matters. Karimjee graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 1997, was called to the bar in Ontario in 1999, and completed an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2020. Karimjee trained as a mediator with Harvard Law School's Program of Instruction for Lawyers and has conducted trials before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, along with appearances before the Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Karimjee served as a part-time Vice-Chair at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal from 2007 to 2012, adjudicating workers' compensation matters, and now conducts restorative mediations and designs dispute resolution systems as part of an ADR practice. Karimjee has been recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada for Labour and Employment Law and in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for Employment Law and Workplace Human Rights Law, and has been inducted into the Canadian Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
