About Karimjee Law

Karimjee Law is a Toronto firm focused on workplace law. It's run by Kumail Karimjee, a lawyer, mediator, and arbitrator who earned an LL.B. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 1997 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1999. The practice covers terminations and severance package reviews, wrongful and constructive dismissal, employment contracts, confidentiality and non-competition agreements, independent contractor classification, workplace human rights and harassment matters, HR training, and workplace investigations, along with litigation and mediation.

Karimjee went on to complete an LL.M. at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2020 and trained as a mediator through Harvard Law School's Program of Instruction for Lawyers. Trial and appellate experience includes the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. From 2007 to 2012, Karimjee served as a part-time Vice-Chair at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. The firm is included in Best Lawyers in Canada for Labour and Employment Law and listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for Employment Law and Workplace Human Rights Law. For mediation, arbitration, and independent workplace investigations, Karimjee also practises through an affiliated practice called Karimjee Resolutions.
