Kirsten Hume Scrimshaw is the founder of Ally Workplace Law and has practised employment and labour law for 20 years, representing both employers and employees at all levels of court in British Columbia. Her practice covers discipline, terminations, wrongful and constructive dismissals, human rights issues, disability claims and accommodation, agreement interpretation, and workers' compensation matters including workplace bullying and harassment. She has worked extensively with First Nations and Indigenous organizations on governance, policy, and capacity-building for their role as employers, and regularly conducts independent workplace investigations. Kirsten is the founder and Co-Chair of the CBABC Workplace Investigations Section, Secretary of the CBABC Human Rights Law Subsection, a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators, and a CBABC Provincial Council sections representative since 2020. She has experience advising benefit trusts on jurisdiction, fair hearing requirements, and arbitral procedure, and has represented trusts and employers in arbitrations, Labour Relations Board appeals, and the courts. She co-authored "An Employer's Guide to Dismissal" (Canada Law Book, 2007) and "IMPACT Labour Law & Management Practices" (Canada Law Book, 2010-2014). She practises through a law corporation.
