About Andrea

Andrea Zappavigna has practised labour and employment law exclusively for more than 15 years, acting as employer-side counsel for public and private clients including unions, schools, construction and manufacturing companies, and various professional practices, as well as representing unions and employees. She has litigation experience as counsel at labour arbitrations, the BC Labour Relations Board, and the Human Rights Tribunal, and has appeared in Supreme Court and Provincial Court employment law trials at all levels of court in British Columbia. Much of her practice involves strategic advice on the stages of the employment relationship, including drafting employment contracts and policies and advising on employment standards, human rights, discipline, and termination issues, along with training for workplaces and HR professionals. She also acts as a workplace investigator for employers. Andrea is a member of the Canadian Bar Association British Columbia branch, a member and mentor with the CBABC Women Lawyers Forum, and presents on workplace law topics through the CBA, Lancaster House, and Certified Human Resource Professional roundtables. She practises through a law corporation.
