About Kim

Kim Nutz is an employment lawyer with over 20 years of experience advising both employees and employers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in American History (1994) and a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Calgary (1999), and was admitted to the Alberta bar in 2000. She spent six years as an associate at a large national law firm, specializing in employment/labour law and commercial litigation, then served as labour legal counsel for the City of Calgary's Fire Department and later worked in house at Suncor Energy on employment matters. She spent more than 11 years at a boutique employment law firm before founding Sunstone Legal, where she now represents both employees and employers, offering flat rate fees for many services and a contingency fee for negotiated severance increases.
